Democracy Day: Hon. Ugochukwu  congratulates President Tinubu, Gov. Otti

A staunch member of Labour Party in Abia State, Hon  Iheanyichikwu Ugochukwu, popularly known as Hon Prince Ugo, has congratulated President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor  of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti as Nigeria celebrate  democracy  Day.

In the interview, he  granted news media to comemorate June 12 democracy day , Hon Ugochukwu, the Uzuakoli-Abia born politician  and businessman who is also the Media Director to Eze Ndigbo  Ghana, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu said,

” It gladden my  heart  that today we are celebrating another  year of unbroken democracy  in our country, Nigeria. This is a welcome  developments, and I pray for God’s  guidance  for our leaders both at the state and federal level”

On what  Gov Otti should  do to deepen democracy at the grassroots in Abia, Hon. Ugochukwu urges the governor  to continue  in his stride by empowering  the youth, the construction  of roads, and regular payments of salary.

Speaking  on the gain of democracy  over other systems of governance , Hon. Ugochukwu  said that even though  our democracy  still has its pros and cons, it still remains the best option  of government.  I believe  that with time, Nigeria would  get it right.

While reacting  to the bill at the National  Assembly  for the creation of an additional   State for the South East, Hon. Ugochukwu  said  it is a good step in the right  direction. “For  years, the South East  has only 5 states while other geopolitical  zones has between 7 and six. “If actualized, it would  douse the  cry of marginalisation as well as  strengthen  the region’s political potential.”

On whether the Tinubu administration  has done enough  to deserve elaborate celebration,  Hon Prince Ugo said, “Although  1 year is too short to rate any government,  Nigerians has undergone more hardship within the space of 360 days than  4 years of previous  government.”

Speaking in the same vein on what the youth has gained under democracy, he said unemployment  has breed insecurity  as many unemployed youths end up as a tool in  the hands of warlords  and mischief-makers

Hon Ugochukwu said as youth advocate, he hoped to carry them along  in his future  political  moves. He further admonished Nigerian youths to keep faith for tomorrow holds our future.
