Delta police clear man of adultery accusation

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Delta State Police Command, has cleared one Daniel Yoko Desebrapade, from Esanma in Bomadi Council area, of an alleged sexual relationship with another man’s wife in Udu.

Police said the incident occurred when two suspects Danny and Nora, were assaulted by the community youths over allegedly adultery they claimed they never committed.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, one Tega, tendered unreserved apologies to the victims in a viral video. He admitted to have misled the people, especially the youths into taken action of punishing wrong persons over a crime that was not committed. He pleaded with the victims for forgiveness, explaining that based the wrong allegation on rumour and presumptuous claim that he failed to cross checked before raising the wrong alarm that prompted the mob action.

The apology video saw Tega pleading forgiveness. The victims agreed to move on in the spirit forgiveness and peaceful neighbourliness. The police had since released the victims and advised the accused person to adopt all necessary means to pacify them.
