A 37-year-old man, Ogunbamise Oluwabamise, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged theft of a Hyundai Sonata car, valued at N15 million.
Oluwabamise, a car dealer residing at 3 Oremeta St., Moricas, Akute, Ogun, is being charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the defendant committed the offences in October 29, 2025, at Progress Road, Abule Egba, Lagos.
Ademigbuji further said that the complainant, Mr. Usman Alabi gave his unregistered Hyundai Sonata car, valued at N15 million, to the defendant to sell for him.
‘They agreed that the defendant should deposit the money in the complainant’s account after selling the car, but he sold the car and failed to remit the money as agreed,” he said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
