Famous Afrobeat singer Davido has joined hundreds of netizens in calling for VeryDarkMan’s release from detention.
Daily Sun reports that VeryDarkMan, a popular social media critic, was arrested on Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an undisclosed offense.
Before his arrest, VeryDarkMan had announced his visit to one of the GTBank branches in Abuja, to complain about an alleged deduction from his mother’s account.
As of the time of posting this report, it is unclear if VeryDarkMan was apprehended inside or outside the GTBank.

His arrest sparked a wide range of reactions online, with netizens and celebrities alike demanding for his release.
Reacting to the development, Davido, in a post on X, demanded VeryDarkMan’s release.
“Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate!
“The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging, makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
