Managing Director of Muna Sylver Nigeria Ltd, Princess Chi Ezeh, has congratulated the Area Controller, Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Comptroller Dera Nnadi, on the transformation of the TCIP administrative building and the attainment of a N1 trillion revenue mark at the Command.
Ezeh noted that these accomplishments are worth celebrating and thanked the Comptroller-General of NCS, Bashir Adeniyi for rewarding Nnadi with the award for workplace transformation at the recent CGC award night in Abuja.
According to the freight forwarder, a trip to the TCIP Customs Command’s facilities, gives one the experience of visiting the headquarters of top commercial bank in Nigeria.
Her words: “In the past, we have known Comptroller Nnadi as an excellent Customs boss with high-profile seizures of drugs and narcotics, interception of arms and ammunition, and a keen eye for revenue generation. We have seen all these play out at TCIP this year, however, he has also shown us a new side to his leadership with the sweeping transformation of the TCIP administrative complex which was completed in just few months.

“While we were planning to celebrate that improvement in the workplace at TCIP, Comptroller Nnadi was still focused on the revenue collection at the Command. He encouraged stakeholders by marketing the Command to shippers through online adverts, documentaries and numerous engagements, while also reducing revenue leakages.
“The result is the historic N1trillion that the Command has collected in 2024 without adding the revenue for December. The former highest revenue mark at the Command was N639billion in 2023 also achieved by Comptroller Nnadi.”
She appreciated the Comptroller for not ignoring the glaring need for transformation at TCIP Customs Command over revenue generation which several Area controllers had done since the TCIP administrative building was developed 40 years ago.
Ezeh, who is also a Vice President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Western Zone, maintained that other Customs Area Controllers can learn from Nnadi’s style of leadership.
Fourty years after the initial construction of the TCIP Customs administrative building, Nnadi carried out the renovation and built a quarter guard podium and Police Gate House which was commissioned by Comptroller Adeniyi, recently.
The Customs CG, while presiding over the commissioning at the TCIP command described the new look as “an award-winning project awards” to be celebrated at the NCS 2024 end-of-year awards.
