CUPP allegations: Saraki, PDP scared of their shadows –APC

The All  Progressives Congress (APC) has described allegations by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) as confirmation that Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are afraid of their shadows.

The CUPP, in a statement by its spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere, yesterday, alleged that the police is allowing APC leaders to dictate to it on how to deploy policemen for election duties.

Regardless, APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam  Lanre Issa-Onilu, in a statement, yesterday, described the allegations as baseless and urged  the senate president to brace up for a new and progressive Kwara.

“Ordinarily, APC wouldn’t respond to a group of charlatans running errands for the embattled senate president.

“For the umpteenth time, we reiterate that the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and, indeed, other senior party leaders are too busy with the Next Level campaigns and engagements to be involved in the childish conspiracies and spurious allegations. It is not within the rights or responsibility of any political organisation or group to dictate to agencies empowered by law how to deliver on specific mandates. We believe that leaders, with a modicum of honour, should not thread on the path of cowardice by hiding under nebulous groups to make unsubstantiated allegations. However, we understand that people’s fears are, oftentimes their own weakness.

“It is clear that senator Saraki, the PDP, and their cronies are recollecting their usual practice of manipulating state institutions to achieve their political ends and are now scared of their own shadows. Let it be known that our party, APC, has not copied such dubious template.   

“We reiterate that a new and progressive Kwara beckons. Through their votes, the Kwara electorate will decide on the new political direction in the state.”
