Earlier, the police prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the accused committed the offences on August 23, at about 8.00.p.m. at the Ijanikin area of Lagos.

Ekpo said that the accused obtained goods valued at N5,030,000 under false pretence from one Sheriff Hazmat, the complainant.

“The accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by running away with goods valued at N5,030,000 from the complainant.

“Ganiyu converted the goods to his own by stealing the goods.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 314, 168, and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
