A 30-year-old man, Hammed Azeez, was yesterday sentenced to one-year imprisonment by Osun State Magistrates’ Court, Osogbo, for stealing pumping machines valued at N705,000.
The prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the convict stole the machines at Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo.
Abiodun explained that the convict committed the crime on April 6, 2022, at about 3.04am. According to the charge sheet, the offences were contrary to and punishable under sections 516 and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 33 Vol. 11, laws of Osun State, 2022.
The convict pleaded guilty to the crime and prayed the court to be merciful to him. The Magistrate, O. A. Daramola, thereby, sentenced him to one-year imprisonment with an option of a fine of N200,000.
