Court fixes Aug 31 for sentencing of woman accused of attacking neighbour with hot water

(NAN)

An Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday fixed Aug 31 for the sentencing of a 22-year-old woman, Endurance Sunday, who pleaded guilty to attacking her neighbour with hot water.

Magistrate LJK Layeni fixed the date following a guilty plea entered by Sunday for causing grievous bodily harm.

The Prosecution Counsel, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 2 at the Abule Ado area of Ojo Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant bathed the complainant, Roseline Silas, with hot water following an altercation.

Uche told the court that the complainant sustained burns on her chest and other parts of her body.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 245 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
