Following the corruption allegations being investigated against two ministers in the cabinet of President Bola Tinubu, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to the president not to lose trust and hope in the Nigerian youths. NANS said the probe of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, and her counterpart, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for alleged financial crimes and misappropriation of funds should not deter the President from engaging more youths in his cabinet. The national president of NANS, Pedro Chibuzo Obi, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. While commending the President for not shielding his ministers from investigation, Obi urged Tinubu to give more youth a chance to serve the nation.

“We urge Mr. President to remain strong in his resolve to engage the services of more youths in his cabinet. The President has already proven to be the father of young Nigerians by giving appointments to a large number of youths and women and we want this gesture to continue,” Obi said.
