Corp Member Slumps, Dies During Nigeria, S/Africa Penalty Shootout

A serving corp Member has Slumped to death during Nigeria-South Africa penalty shootout yesterday

The corp member who is serving in Numan local government of Adamawa state simply known as Samuel from Kaduna state, is said to have slumped and died before the last kick-off that ensured Nigeria progressed to the final of the 2023 African cup of Nations.

In a social media post on Facebook by an eye witness reads, “We lost one Nigerian few minutes ago during our victory celebration over south Africa today at our sport viewing center (SVC) here in Numan.

“The corp member who is serving in numan from kaduna fainted before the last kick-off of the winning penalty goal.

“He died before we could rush him to the hospital in Numan, may his soul rest in peace.”

Confirming the incident, the NYSC state coordinator in Adamawa Jingi Dennis in a telephone conversation said ” l have received the news of his death last night, I hope to have more details today.

“According to his colleagues who went with him to watch the match said the late corp member told them that he doesn’t like watching penalty shootout, he then bow his head and all of a sudden he collapsed.

“He was confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Numan by the Doctor,” the coordinator said.
