Congo House emerged as the overall champion of maiden edition of the Federal Government College Kaduna Old Students Association (FGCKADOSA), Kaduna Chapter Alumni Inter-House Sports Competition, securing 118 points ahead of the seven competing houses.

The competition was held from April 25 – 26 at the school’s sports ground in Malali, Kaduna.

The vibrant event rekindled old friendships and evoked fond memories among participants.

In his remarks, the Chairman of FGCKADOSA Kaduna Chapter, Mr. Adesoji Bilewu, (Class of 1988) applauded all participants for their enthusiastic response, outstanding sportsmanship, and commitment to the spirit of the event.

He emphasised that the competition aimed to reunite old students, strengthen relationships, and encourage collective support for the school’s development.

Mr. Bilewu also specially recognised senior alumni, affectionately referred to as the “ancestors,” who graced the occasion: Muhammad Musa Gombe (Class of 1978), Isa Yakubu (Class of 1978), Uthman Garba (Class of 1978), Isiaka Umaru Sule (Class of 1983) and Mahmud Babatunde Ajeigbe (Class of 1984)

Principal of the college, Prince Adewale Adeyanju expressed admiration for the alumni’s initiative.

“This is the first time I am witnessing an alumni body organising an inter-house sports competition amongst themselves. I strongly believe this tradition has come to stay, and we will always be available to support this wonderful idea.”

The Sports Committee Chairman, Vincent Akinbami, extended his appreciation to the FGCKADOSA Kaduna Chairman, Mr. Bilewu, the executives, fellow sports committee members, and all participating alumni. He also expressed gratitude to the senior alumni who attended, promising that the next edition would be even bigger and better.

The maiden event successfully combined nostalgia, camaraderie, and competitive spirit, laying a strong foundation for future alumni sporting activities at the college.
