U.S. President Donald Trump has said the ongoing military operation against Iran could last around four weeks.

In an interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail, he explained that Iran is a large country, and the campaign is expected to take “four weeks or less.”

The conflict has already claimed the lives of three U.S. soldiers, with five others seriously injured. Iran’s retaliatory attacks have targeted U.S. bases in the Gulf and other strategic sites, intensifying regional tensions.

Trump praised the fallen soldiers, describing them as “great people,” and warned that further casualties could occur.

“Unfortunately, it could happen again,” he said, underscoring the inherent risks of military operations in the region.

Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir echoed the assessment, noting that Israel has achieved “significant gains” in the first 48 hours of operations in Iran, but cautioned that “many more days of fighting lie ahead.”

The U.S.-Israeli campaign follows heightened regional hostilities and targeted strikes on key Iranian military infrastructure. Analysts warn that escalation could prolong the conflict and affect civilian populations across the region.

International observers continue to monitor developments closely, calling for measured responses to avoid a broader confrontation.

The situation remains fluid, with military and political outcomes still uncertain.

As operations continue, the prospect of a sustained campaign highlights the challenges of containing regional tensions while pursuing strategic objectives in a volatile environment.
