Compass Survey Limited, a leading provider of survey and positioning services in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, has today announced a strategic partnership with SeaBot Maritime, a UK-based expert in uncrewed maritime systems (USVs). This collaboration will equip Compass Survey with the skills and knowledge needed to operate USVs effectively, contributing to the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, SeaBot Maritime will deliver tailored USV training programs recognized by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and provide technical consultancy services. This comprehensive support will enable Compass Survey to develop and implement advanced operational concepts (CONOPS) for USV payloads.
“We are excited to partner with Compass Survey to help them harness the potential of USVs,” said Gordon Meadow, CEO of SeaBot Maritime. “By providing our expertise in USV operations, we are contributing to the growth of a skilled workforce in Nigeria and strengthening the country’s maritime capabilities.”
The partnership will focus on practical, hands-on training that addresses the specific needs of Compass Survey’s operations. This will ensure that Nigerian personnel are well-prepared to manage the complexities of modern USV technology.
“This collaboration is a significant step forward for Compass Survey,” said Joshua Oriero, Project Manager at Compass Survey. “By working with SeaBot Maritime, we are positioning ourselves as a leader in USV operations in Nigeria and the wider Sub-Saharan Africa region.”
With SeaBot Maritime’s support, Compass Survey is poised to become a pioneer in the use of USVs in Nigeria, driving innovation, improving safety, and enhancing operational efficiency.
