Clem Agba, Lai Mohammed, others to be honoured by reggae group

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, and his counterpart of the Information and culture are set to be honoured as Grand Patron and National Patron, respectively, by the Universal Reggae Fans Movement (URFAM), an association of philosophers, advocates of human freedom, performing artistes and others.

This was contained in a statement signed by its Planning Committee Chairman, Senior King Ogbebor and its Secretary, Rev. (Dr.) Victor Osadolor and made available to newsmen in Benin.

Also to be feted by the group, as patrons, are popular reggae music star, Orits Williki, the Enogie (king) of Eyaen, a Benin City suburb, Dr… Osawaru Iduriase and Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor, human rights activist and President of One Love Foundation, a pressure group Front line human rights crusader and president of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Dr Osagie Obayuwana, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe, Founder of the Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO), the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Edo State, Mr Osaigbovo Iyoha, Deacon Festus Osaigbovo and Governor of the Performing Musicians/Employers Association (PMAN), Willy Eghe Nova would be honoured for their respective leading roles in the development of music.

Entitled “Naija Reggae Revival ‘22”, it is a one-day event, predicated on the remembrance of the late reggae megastar, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and others, and the ideals of human liberty that the reggae genres of music profess.

Holding in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Saturday, September 17, the event would be chaired by Dr Austin Emuan, a former governorship aspirant in the state, Bishop Osadolor Anthony Ochei, a clergy and civil rights activist, as Spiritual Guidance and Hon. Mohammed, the Information and Culture Minister, who, on behalf of the Federal Government, play another role as its Special Guest of Honour and giver of the keynote address.
