The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, has felicitated with christians in the state, Nigeria and across the globe as they celebrate christmas to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Australia-based medical doctor charged Christians to spread love, peace and unity which he said are the hallmarks that brought Jesus Christ to the world.
Oluyede in a statement by his spokesperson, Gani Salau and made available to newsmen urged Christians all over the world to ensure that the birth of Jesus Christ serves as a means to conquer sins and forgiveness.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let me emphasise that his birth conquers sins. His birth renews our hope and through his name, our sins are forgiven which gives redemption and salvation to this world.”
While urging them to show love to one another through their gifts and good wishes, the candidate charged christian faithful particularly those in Ekiti State to live peacefully with one another and with adherents of other religions.

He advised Christians not to use the festive period only for dinning and winning but to have sober reflection on the state of the state and prayed for the growth and development of Ekiti State in order to be able to shoulder with other developing states in the federation.
He called on christians to see the birth of Jesus Christ as a light over darkness adding ” his birth has made us children which has totally led to our liberation.
“May the joy of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, usher in divine peace, enduring unity, sound health and uncommon blessings to the people of Ekiti State..”
He noted the uniqueness of Ekiti State as one entity and prayed for peace and unity to reign in the land as the year is gradually winding up.
