The Federal Government, has addressed concerns raised by United States President Donald Trump on the issue of genocide against Christians in Nigeria.
Trump had on Friday, designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, having concluded that Christianity was facing existential threat in Nigeria.
But the Federal Government, in a statement issued by the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said it noted the recent statement by the United States of America on religious freedom in Nigeria.
“We remain committed in our resolve to tackle the violent extremism that is fuelled by special interests who have helped drive such decay and division in countries across the intersecting West African and Sahel regions,” the government said.
The government also mourn all the victims of violent extremism in the country, and saluted the armed forces as they continue to fight against vicious but cowardly foes.
