On November 5, 2025, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, paid a courtesy visit to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Yu stated that since President Tinubu’s attendance at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and his state visit to China last year, practical cooperation between China and Nigeria in various fields has yielded fruitful results, truly benefiting Nigeria’s economic and social development and improving people’s livelihoods.

Yu also said as a comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions and opposed any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force.

“China is willing to continue supporting Nigeria in combating terrorism and maintaining domestic stability,” Yu said.

In his remarks, Ribadu expressed gratitude for China’s strong support “at this critical moment” and his willingness to further promote China-Nigeria cooperation in the security field to benefit the people of both countries and the region.
