The Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Xin Guobin, has said that China has so far formulated nearly 200 key standards for artificial intelligence (AI) to steer the sector towards sound and orderly development.
Speaking at a press conference held at the State Council Information Office in Beijing, China, Xin also said AI has now been largely integrated across the entire industrial chain in the country, including research and development, design, production, manufacturing, quality inspection, as well as operations and maintenance.
He further said multiple cities are being organised to carry out AI ethics reviews and service practice initiatives.

Also speaking, the Director of the Information and Communications Development Department of the MIIT said that, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030), efforts to advance core 6G technologies will be accelerated.
“Continuous 6G technology trials and standards development will be carried out to promote the maturation of the 6G industry and the construction of its ecosystem, preparing for the commercial deployment of 6G,” Liu said.
