Mr. Chima Christian, young, urbane and unassuming,  has made visible impact on society in his prime. At 34, he has rubbished the belief that youngsters of these days are not ambitious.

As Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Teva Foods, he has emerged as one of the young voices advocating a new approach to agriculture – one driven by smart farming, climate resilience and youth participation.

His entrepreneurial journey is rooted in a strong belief that agriculture remains one of Nigeria’s greatest untapped assets. Beyond the traditional subsistence farming, he recognised its enormous commercial potential and set out to build an enterprise that is capable of delivering value across the food production chain.

Through Teva Foods Limited, Chima Christian championed greenhouse farming, organic food production and precision agriculture aimed at improving food security while creating opportunities for young Nigerians.

One of his notable initiatives is the Teva Foods Jos-1 Greenhouse Farm Estate in Plateau State, a facility developed to promote climate-smart agriculture and train young people in modern farming techniques. The greenhouse accommodates more than 12,000 bell pepper plants and serves as a practical demonstration of how technology can improve agricultural productivity.

Beyond greenhouse farming, he has led initiatives involving yam, plantain and fruit tree cultivation. These efforts reflect his commitment to food sustainability and long-term agricultural development.

His advocacy to attract more young people into productive ventures extends beyond food production. Through internship programmes, youth training initiatives and community outreach projects, he has encouraged young Nigerians to see agriculture as a business that is capable of generating wealth and solving social challenges.

Although he operate in a sector that is burdened by inadequate infrastructure, financing constraints and market uncertainties, he has remained focused on building a sustainable enterprise that is capable of delivering long-term value. His ability to navigate these challenges while pursuing growth has earned him recognition as one of the emerging voices in Nigeria’s agribusiness landscape.

Beyond business, he has consistently advocated for greater investment in agriculture as a pathway to economic growth, job creation and national development. His work reflects a commitment not only to building a successful enterprise but also to contribute meaningfully to solutions that address some of the country’s most pressing socio-economic concerns.

As a young entrepreneur, Christian represents a generation of Nigerians that are leveraging innovation, technology and enterprise to create impact. His achievements underscore the possibilities that exist when ambition is matched with purpose and determination.

He is the winner of The Sun Young Achievers Award 2026.
