The 24-year-old David is currently at the Copa América with Canada but is attracting interest from many European clubs as he enters the final year of his deal at Lille.

Guiu, a La Masia product, is said to be in new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick’s plans, but the player has not responded positively to the Catalan club’s contract proposals.

Chelsea are hopeful of capitalising on the situation at the Camp Nou to sign the striker, whose current deal at his boyhood club expires in June 2025.

While the London club are frontrunners for the player’s signature, Bayern Munich and Sevilla have also shown interest.
