A new food delivery platform, ChefCook.NG, has been launched in Lagos. The unboxing of the new platform on Saturday in Lagos was to let Nigerians know about ChefCook, the services it brings to the market place and why it should be chosen above other food delivery platforms in Nigeria
Speaking at the launching, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, JohnBosco Onyeme said the platform is unique because it offers opportunity to every restaurateur, no matter how small, to showcase his or her services on the platform.
He said: “We are unique. We are not just after the big restaurants and all that; no, we want the suya man on the street; the amala woman on the street and even that akara woman on the street to come on board. We want those people who don’t have any person to talk to them, those that don’t have the money to advertise to come on board ChefCook food delivery platform.
“We are not a restaurant but a platform where restaurants can come on and have their menu advertised and then they sell their food. So, what we do is that through the on boarding process, we educate them on how to use the platform because it is important they understand how to use the platform. And we help them also to upload their menu on our platform and that is where we are different. We are not charging them any fee to come on board.”
He noted that another unique feature of ChefCook is that the prices the restaurant operators sell their food in their shops is the same price they are going to sell online, unlike other food platforms, where prices vary between the physical shops and the online platforms. “You can go and verify what I am telling you. They make it more expensive for the people; we want to eliminate that. We want to make sure that what people pay for the physical shop is the same thing they pay for online service; they don’t have to pay extra except the cost of delivery,” he added.
He promised that the company would deliver food at the doorsteps of the buyers in a record time of 40 minutes maximum in any part of Lagos State and as ‘e dey hot.’
