The visit of Charly Boy and his protest group has been blamed on the outbreak of clashes between Hausa and Igbo traders in the market.

According to witnesses,  after Charly Boy had arrived with his team protesting 100 days of President Muhammadu Buhari absence,  some Hausa traders descended on the musician and damaged his car and inflicted injury on him.

The attackers are made of people sympathetic of Buhari and this was said to ahev led to escalation between two groups.
