Chairman of the ongoing United Football Championship, Emmanuel Udeogu has predicted a bright future for Nigeria football.
The soccer administrator stated this after witnessing several impressive cracker in the week 2 duels involving R2finesse FA, G12FC, Dominion Hotspur and Goshen FC. Udeogu whose aim is to see the championship produce future stars capable of hoisting the country’s flag across the globe.
Having handed the man of the match award to R2finesse left back, Udofia Arasi-Odu Etim, Udeogu hinted the championship will serve as platform to footballers willing to go places.
‘With this ongoing championship, I see Nigeria football shinning brighter in nearest future. I’v often said tournament of this magnitude are organized to inspire footballers. We won’t also relent in our bid to project players to the world.’
‘The league consisting of fourteen teams will be played for four months and I can assure you, talent will be scouted just as we’ve been doing in the past. The championship will also serve as eye opener to footballers finding it difficult to express themselves before several foes. I see us finishing big and I wish the players the very best of luck,’ he stated.
In a similar vein, Udofia who bagged the man of the match award also expressed gratitude to the organizers while dedicating his award to team mate.
‘ I’m glad to have won this and I’ll be dedicating this to my team mates who has always been supportive on the field of play. The league has been a special one for me and I’m glad with the style of play and atmosphere set up by the organizers. I hope to see my team continue this way so we can be crown champion,’ he opined.
