CELTIC is pondering a swoop for unsettled Super Eagles and Nice striker Terem Moffi as the hours tick down towards the end of the window, it’s being claimed.
The powerful Nigerian moved to current club Nice from their Ligue 1 rivals Lorient for a whopping £26m only three seasons ago.
But things have turned sour in a major way for Moffi – after he and several of his Nice teammates were attacked by supporters after a 3–1 loss to his former side.
It prompted him to go on sick leave, then request a termination from his contract – which lasts until the summer of 2027.
While that process remains ongoing, Nice appear likely to let the star leave on loan in the short term.
And now The Herald are reporting that the 26-year-old is an option being considered by the Parkhead side – who could pair him with his Nigeria international team-mate Kelechi Iheanacho.
Moffi has four goals in 19 appearances for his national team – but they won’t be at the World Cup in the summer.

The Hoops could have major competition for his signature, though, with Rangers‘ Europa League rivals Porto – a team who could also stand in Celtic‘s way in the knockout phases – and Besiktas also both linked with the player.
Celtic have already added Tomas Cvancara – but want more firepower as they bid to stave off the challenge of Hearts and Rangers to retain their Premiership crown.
Martin O’Neill has hardly had the chance to work with Iheanacho due to injury – although the Nigerian is back to full fitness.
He said recently: “The January transfer window is pretty difficult.
“Unless you’ve identified a player that you absolutely know is going to improve your team and that you’re prepared to spend money on them, I think it becomes more difficult.
“I think I might have said a couple of weeks ago that the new manager would’ve wanted to have the January transfer window so that he could identify players for his particular system.”
