After years of battle to clear her reputation, justice has finally smiled on Adesuwa Renee Ogiozee, popularly known as the Auto Queen, as prosecutors finally dismissed the online romance scam charges leveled against her in a New Mexico court.
Adesuwa, who has been moving around with a monitoring device stuck to her leg is now a free woman with no wrongdoing in her name. She shared the good news on social media today and her friends and fans have been sending congratulatory messages to her.
Arguably one of the biggest Nigerian female auto dealers in the US, her Renee Motors and Logistics LLC, is the go-to auto brand for celebrities and people of means across the world.
She, however, made headlines for the wrong reasons when the news of her alleged involvement in a romance scam hit the social media space.
Following her arrest, she was charged for wire fraud, including aiding and abetting. According to report, she was alleged to have conspired with a customer who was involved in a romance scam with his lover. But, she kept to the claim that her interaction with the customer was strictly about a car purchase.
Many people believe she was just another victim of profiling gone wrong. She was alleged to have conspired with one of her customers who was involved in a US560,000 dollars romance scam, which was reported to be a loan her customer took from his lover.
However, following further investigations, the actual culprit in the case has now been apprehended and prosecutors had established that the wrongful charges against Adesuwa should be dismissed.
