Illustrious sons and daughters of Amenu Welfare Union Worldwide (AUWUW) in Nigeria and Diaspora are expected to grace the Iri ji Ndi Amenu Uburu holding on August 30, 2026 at Amaorji, Uburu, in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
It is themed, “coming together in unity, celebrating our heritage, building our tomorrow.”
The chairman of the organizing committee of the event, Hon. Ogbonnaya Ene-Odii, described it as “a festival of thanksgiving, unity and renewal.”
“Let us give thanks for His goodness, celebrate our new beginnings and strengthen the bond that makes us one family,” the committee stated.
According to the organisers, the event is aimed at promoting the rich cultural heritage and profound unity of Amenu even as it will also be an opportunity for key stakeholders to discuss practical ways to move forward.”

The Amenu Uburu Welfare Union is a community-based socio-cultural and charitable organization formed by indigenes of Amenu, one of the celebrated villages in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The union operates through various branches in Lagos, Abuja, Aba, Port Harcourt and Abakaliki, among others to foster unity, preserve cultural heritage, and support community development back home.
Amen Uburu Welfare Union Worldwide Organizes large-scale humanitarian programmes, including free medical outreaches providing health checks, medications.and treatments for vulnerable residents in Uburu.
It also advocates for the welfare, legal protection, and general well-being of Uburu sons and daughters residing outside their home state.
It connects members across different regions in Nigeria and elsewhere to promote mutual progress, celebrate milestones, and maintain strong ties to their ancestral roots.
The President-General (PG) of Amenu, Mazi Elias Eneh, urged sons and daughters to return enmass and support the effort.
