The atmosphere is generally peaceful but some polling units have issues with card readers as some of them are malfunctioning.

In Polling Unit 12 Ward 11, Opume community , the INEC adchoc staff had to send for another card reader as the first one failed to read voters biometrics.

In polling Unit 1 where the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, voted, the card reader also failed to read his biometrics for accreditation and he had to be accredited manually by looking for his in the registration .

Iworiso-Markson in a short interview expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the voters but raise concern over the malfunctioning of the card readers.

He said INEC should find a solution to the card-reader problem so as not to disenfranchise voters who were already getting frustrated.
