Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has congratulated the President-elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on his election victory weeks after he was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
National Chairman, YOWICAN), Belusochukwu M. Enwere, in a letter to the President-elect, assured him of the support of CAN youths, and also anticipate a closer working relationship with his administration.
The letter reads: “Dear President-Elect, I write on behalf of myself and the entire Christian Youth in Nigeria to congratulate you on your resounding victory, well deserved and overlong success at the just concluded presidential election.
“You have undoubtedly worked very hard to achieve this victory and your commitment and dedication for the unity of our dear country has helped you to achieve this goal.
This will benefit the country as a whole as new and young minds will emerge.
“t is not disputable that, with your versed experience and leadership acumen, you will easily fulfill all your campaign promises. You have been an apostle of restructuring Nigeria and entrenchment of true federalism in line with global best practices. Please kindly hit the ground running by fulfilling the promises.
“Please, use this opportunity to develop and unite Nigeria irrespective of religion, ethnicity and tribe as well as shine brightly in the comity of nations. We believe that your administration will bring everlasting peace and disappoint all those who never wished Nigeria well.
“YOWICAN look forward to working with you not only to develop closer relations between you and the entire Christian Youths but also to concert our efforts in the cause of development, peace and the brotherhood of all peoples.
“Please once more, accept our warm congratulations on your victory and our best wishes for your success as you prepare to take up the responsibilities and challenges of your high esteem office.”
Meanwhile, there are indications that some persons in the leadership of CAN never endorsed the letter, hence they might initiate internal disciplinary measures against the YOUWICAN National Chairman who wrote the letter.
