The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) Lagos State Branch is urging the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Alabi, to call some group of Persons whom it tagged “Hoodlums” to order to avoid further disruption of peace and harmony among its members.
In a communique delivered and signed by the branch Secretary (Abiodun Aladetan); its Chairman (Olusegun Rhamon Balogun) and other exco members at the end of its executive meeting, the body revealed that its National Secretariat at Yaba was invaded by some suspected hoodlums accompanied by one Bola Audu Innocent, the former and expelled President of the Union.
According to them, the executive meeting was held immediately after the Association’s official visit to Alagbon Police Command, Ikoyi to establish some facts of the matter as a responsible group.
In the communiqué they resolved that the invasion of the National Secretariat of the Union by Bola Audu Innocent and one Mr. Mutiu Adebayo Oluwa along with their alleged sponsored trouble makers
is condemnable, irresponsible and unfortunate for people who were beneficiaries of the system.
From the communiqué, the ASCSN maintained that its branch leadership passed a vote of confidence on the present National leadership led by Dr.Tommy Etim Okon as President and Alade Bashir Lawal as Secretary General.
According to them, Mr. Mutiu Adebayo Oluwa, an Agricultural Superintendent on GL 14 step 9 in the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) was not a financial member of the ASCSN Lagos branch despite benefiting immensely under the umbrella of ASCSN both at the Branch and the National levels.
In their words, “The desperation of Mutiu Adebayo Oluwa to gain relevance through negative means having felt left out in the scheme of things has made him vulnerable and a useful tool for the enemies of the union to test run their evil plan in Lagos State.
“The decision to expel Bola Audu Innocent was unanimously agreed by NEC members from across the 36 States of the Federation including FCT. Hence, Lagos State cannot be elected as their favorite destination for trouble making.
“Bola Audu Innocent along with his new found recruits in Lagos should desist from fueling the embers of falsehood about the Union and its leaders and should respect the decision of NEC who gave him the aborted mandate in the first place,”
ASCSN stressed that resorting to self help through thuggery, hooliganism and social media propaganda all in a bid to attract sympathy in a country with law and order was not the best way to go. Rather, Bola Audu Innocent and his disciples should submit themselves to the court processes which they initiated and patiently wait for the outcome.
They affirmed that the whole issue is already before a court of competent jurisdiction and it would be subjudice for any person or group of persons to make it a subject of discussion on any platform whatsoever.
“The Lagos State Branch will resist with all resources available at his disposal to foil any attempt by any hoodlums both imported or domestic to foment trouble within the Branch because we are peace -loving people who are famous for our rich culture of intellectual engagement built on the foundation of empirical evidence and not pettiness or any pedestrian gossips initiated from any corner.
“All members of the union in Lagos State should remain calm and go about their normal business because there is no cause for alarm,” they asseverated.
They urged the CP to reopen its Secretariat to avoid grounding activities pending when their matter would be res adjudicata.
Efforts to reach Bola Audu Innocent and Mutiu Adebayo Oluwa as at the time of filing this report proved abortive.
