Building collapse: NSE appoints committee on failure analysis, investigation

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appointed Joseph Adeyemi as a member of failure analysis and investigation committee. This is in recognition of his expertise and contribution to the field of engineering. The Failure Analysis and Investigation Committee is critical to the NSE’s efforts to ensure the safety, reliability and sustainability of engineering projects nationwide.

The committee’s work involves detailed analysis and scrutiny of engineering failures, providing insights and recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Adeyemi who is a graduate of civil engineering and also holds a masters’ degree in highway and traffic engineering from University of Agriculture Abeokuta has been a vital part of Nigeria’s engineering landscape for more than two decades.

The appointment underscores his unwavering commitment to enhancing engineering practice in Nigeria. His leadership roles have included serving as the Coordinator of the Engineering Regulation Monitoring for the NSE’s Ikeja branch.  Adeyemi’s role in the committee will involve leading investigations, analysing complex data and developing strategies to mitigate risks associated with engineering projects.

Reacting to the appointment, the NSE said, “Mr. Adeyemi’s appointment is a testament to his pivotal role in shaping the future of engineering in Nigeria. Under his expertise, the committee is expected to make significant advancements in the way engineering projects are analysed and executed in the country.”
