Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Job Creation, Afolabi Imoukhuede, has teamed up with a clergyman, Prophet Sam Olu Alo to inspire youths to collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to exercise their franchise in next year’s polls.
They revealed this at the 2022 convention of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Zonal Headquarters, Jesus City, Epe, Lagos.
Imoukhuede said the church would not stop orientating the youths on the importance of PVC. He, however, tasked citizens to vote wisely while performing their civic right.
“We all know what the election means to all Nigerians; it is a civic duty which we all must show interest in. So the church of God can’t do without getting themselves involved, and which is what we have been doing here.
“Obviously, we know the voters registration is over, but the PVC collection is ongoing. We are using this medium to urge them to collect their PVC so that on the day of election they’ll will have what it takes to elect their choice candidates. We are also begging everyone not to see the election day as an opportunity to sleep and relax, but to go out and exercise their rights for the development of the nation.”
Alo on his part, Alo begged the youths to desist from any attitude that is capable of halting the election even as he urged christians to downplay religion and ethnicity while expressing their obligation at various polling units.
