The Bible Society of Nigeria [BSN] is set to host the grand finale of the 11th edition of its annual Essay Competition/National Symposium for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across the nation.
According to a release issued by Manager, Media & Public Relations of BSN, Mr Benjamin Mordi, the top six Youth Corps members in the written part of the competition held in June 2022, will defend their entries at the symposium that will take place at the Bible Guest House Research & Development Centre, Lagos on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
He informed that the programme will be chaired by the Managing Consultant, BIC Consultancy Services, Dr. Boniface Chizea.
Mordi explained that through the competition, the BSN has been proffering solutions to the socio-economic and political challenges confronting the country, using biblical and intellectual approaches. “The topic of this year’s edition is: “Re-engineering the Nigerian System for Sustainable Development. Winner of the competition, as well as the second and third runners-up will go home with a laptop each, a copy of the Bible and management books, while three others will receive a smart phone, a copy of the Bible, and management books each, as consolation prizes.”
He noted also hinted that the Bible Society of Nigeria is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organisation that translates the Bible into Nigerian languages, publishes, distributes, raises funds for the Bible work, as well as organises programmes that engage people with the word of God to transform their lives. “So far, the BSN has translated the complete Bible into 26 Nigerian Languages, while the translation/revision is on-going in 10 Nigerian Languages.”
