Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya was today impeached by 22 members of the 29-member House.
The impeachment wind also swept away the Majority Leader, Tim Owhefere who represents Isoko North constituency.
Deputy Speaker, Friday Osanebi presided over the plenary at the hallowed chambers where the two principal officers were removed and subsequently suspended for three months.
The lawmakers accused Igbuya who represents Sapele constituency of incompetence and high handedness amongst other sins.
In his place, Sheriff Oborevwori representing Okpe constituency was elected new Speaker while Johnson Erijo representing Isoko South constituency II was elected the new Majority Leader.
