Shuaibu who alongside Keshi led Nigeria to the Mali 2002 Nations Cup died in Benin. His corpse has been deposited at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin same place where Keshi’s corpse is awaiting autopsy.

A family member of the late former Eagles gaffer disclosed to Sunsports that Amodu was as at last night hale and hearty and was in fact billed to be in his village, Okpella in Owan East local government of Edo State today.

“Shuaibu was to go to the village this morning only for him to pass on before dawn. He was in good health last night and he didn’t complain of any health challenge before going to bed,” a bewildered family member disclosed.

Edo FA chairman, Frank Ilaboya who expressed shock over the death said he spoke with Amodu just two days ago.

“I had a lengthy telephone chat with Amodu just two days ago and he was in tears over Keshi’s death. Amodu said he had just finished speaking with Baba Adegboye Onigbinde before my call came in. I m pretty sure nothing was wrong with him health wise,” Ilaboya said.
