Omorogbe who confirmed this to our correspondent in Asaba on Sunday morning, said both staff and ad-hoc workers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were not involved in the mishap.
“I understand that my staff members were not involved; they are all safe and the ad-hoc staff too are safe. The actual details have got to me right now. And I don’t think the mishap affected the materials because it happened later in the day, from what I know,” he said.
The boat that reportedly capsized was said to be conveying INEC ad-hoc staff, security personnel and electoral materials for the elections when the incident happened.
