Breaking: Alleged certificate forgery: Court clears Bindow for March 9 guber polls

Gov Bindow

Godwin Tsa, Abuja

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has dismissed the suit seeking the disqualification of Adamawa State governor, Mohammed, Jibrilla Bindow, from the forthcoming governorship election over alleged certificate forgery.

Justice Kayode Adeniyi in his judgment, upheld the objections of the counsel to Governor Bindo, Chief Chris Uche (SAN) that his court lacked the territorial jurisdiction to entertain the suit.

Justice Adeniyi who cited some legal authorities held that the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court was limited within the boundaries of Abuja and therefore, could not adjudicate on the dispute that arose outside its jurisdiction.
