A promising Nigeria talent, Boy Ryker has revealed his huge admiration for Ghanaian musicians and now looks forward to collaboration with them. The rap artiste is riding on the success of his debut song, Blessed featuring Leriq which garnered over 1.5 million streams across digital platforms.
Boy Ryker who lived briefly in Ghana and returned in 2021 has been immersed in the music culture of Nigeria’s West African neighbours. “I would love to work with the likes of Bisa Kdei and Black Sheriff from Ghana. I admire them so much and I love their sounds,” he disclosed, adding. “among Nigerian artistes, I would love to work with King Perry, Bella Shmurda, Ice Prince and Zinoleesky.”
According to him, the release of Blessed, is a career turning-point. He disclosed, “Up till this moment, I don’t have the right words to use. All I can say is, thanks to God for making my first music project a success with over 1.5million streams across all music platforms. When I return from Ghana early 2021, I linked up with Jeriq right from the night we recorded. I actually knew the song is gonna change my life and it did, thanks to my producer, Insane Chips for giving me a hit sound. A big shout out also to Jeriq for helping a first-timer in music to be heard, that’s not a common feat. I regard him as my mentor because he motivated me to be who I am today.”
Meanwhile, the music talent is now motivated than ever as and has started work on his first body of work. He explained, “I am already working on a five-track EP that comprising trap/drill and hip hop/rap songs. It’s a rich plate featuring Nigerian music hot kid, and Ghana melody trap star, Yunger Vernna. I don’t want to let out too much details but I can tell all Nigerians for free to watch out for my EP. I do not have a release date yet.”
The Enugu State born act whose real name is Ezugwu Chinecherem Cornelius was raised by his widowed mother after losing his dad to untimely death in 2005. Boy Ryker who is the other half of a set of twin grew up in a family of eight children. He had his Pre-nursery school at Akpala Nursery School, Maryland, Enugu State and proceeded to Our lady of Lourdes Primary School before moving to Uwani Secondary School Enugu. He studied Electrical Engineering at Government Technical College Enugu where he studied Electrical Engineering.
