British International School (BIS), Lagos, has praised Nigerian trumpeter and music advocate Joshua Olusanya for his remarkable 25-hour, 30-minute trumpet marathon, describing it as a source of inspiration to young Nigerians and music enthusiasts across the country.
The commendation came as Joshua officially kicked off his Music Empowerment Tour — JOMET 2025 with a visit to the school, where he interacted with students and staff in an engaging session that blended motivation, mentorship, and live trumpet performance.
Joshua shared insights from his journey to achieving the Guinness World Record attempt, speaking on the power of faith, consistency, and focus in turning talent into lasting impact. His inspiring message struck a chord with both students and teachers, sparking discussions about the importance of music education and discipline in personal development.
In his remarks, the school’s Principal, Mr. Kelvin Donnelly, commended Joshua for his perseverance and record-setting achievement, describing him as a role model for young people.
“I got to know about Joshua’s Guinness World Record attempt recently, and I must say, it’s a tremendous achievement,” Mr. Donnelly said. “British International School just celebrated its 25th anniversary, and now we are pleased to announce that the school will sponsor another marathon next year to commemorate our 26th anniversary — inspired by Joshua’s outstanding feat.”
The announcement was met with loud cheers and applause from students and staff, marking a memorable start to Joshua’s JOMET 2025 tour — an initiative powered by Dr. D.K. Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM).
Joshua expressed gratitude to the school for its encouragement and commitment to promoting music among young people.
“It’s an honor to begin the JOMET 2025 tour here at British International School,” he said. “Seeing how receptive and inspired the students were shows that the next generation is ready to use their gifts for greatness. Music is not just sound — it’s a tool for transformation, and I’m glad the message is connecting.”
The JOMET 2025 Music Empowerment Tour will continue across major cities in Nigeria, with Joshua visiting schools, churches, and community centers to mentor young musicians, promote instrumental music, and advocate for stronger investment in music education.
