The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) has called for urgent reinforcement of security personnel in Danda and Buhum villages in Vwang (Vom) District of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State following an attempted attack by suspected gunmen.

The attack reportedly occurred at about 10 a.m. on Sunday, but the assailants fled after sighting members of the community’s vigilante group.

However, the youths expressed concern that the suspected attackers might still be hiding in the rocky areas surrounding the communities, raising fears of a possible return.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Rwang Tengwong, the association urged security agencies to intensify surveillance and deploy additional personnel to Vwang and other vulnerable communities.

“BYM therefore urges security agencies to intensify surveillance, reinforce personnel in Vwang and other vulnerable communities, and conduct proactive security operations to track the suspected attackers, prevent further attacks, and protect lives and property,” the statement said.

The association stressed the need for prompt security intervention to prevent further attacks and safeguard residents of the affected communities.
