Benue LG Chairman places dusk to dawn curfew as cult clash claim 2 lives

At least two people have been killed in a rival cult clash in Gwer Local Government Area, (LGA) of Benue state.

Following the clash, the Chairman of Gwer West LGA, Hon Henry Agba has placed a curfew beginning from 8pm to 6am.

Speaking to newsmen on phone in Makurdi, the state capital on Thursday,Mr Agba said the curfew will last till further notice.

The chairman who confirmed the killings said “There was a clash between rival cultists in the LG during which two persons from both sides were killed.

“As a result of that, the LG became tensed so we had to place a night curfew to contain the situation.

“As at yesterday, movement ceased as from 8pm; so at the moment there is peace and normalcy has been restored,” he said.
