The Director General of the Bureau for Education Quality Assurance (BEQA) in Benue State, Dr Terna Francis, has expressed the state government’s support for the teaching of civic education at all basic and post-basic levels of education.
He stated this during a partnership meeting with stakeholders of the Justice Development and Caritas Foundation (JDCF), Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, to dialogue and strengthen state government support for civic education in schools.
The DG of BEQA explained that civic education is non-negotiable, as it is essential in raising individuals with values and sound character as future leaders who will not want to be subjected to scrutiny by anti-graft agencies or correctional services.
