The Benue State Executive Council, (EXCO) has approved the construction of two overhead bridges in Makurdi.

The Chief Press Secretary, (CPS) to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Kula Tersoo, disclosed this at the end of EXCO meeting in Makurdi on Thursday.

Kula said the Council has directed the Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, to work out modalities for the award of contract for the construction of the two overhead bridges in Makurdi, Benue state capital.

He explained that one of the bridges would be constructed at Wurukum roundabout while the other would be at High Level roundabout.

According to him, Council also approved the establishment of Benue Public Service Institute (BPSI) to take care of the training and retraining of state workers.

The CPS also stated that the EXCO also approved the restructuring of seven ministries to be in line with those at the federal level.

He said the Council also approved the construction of one major rural road for each of the three Senatorial Districts, Zones A,B, and C, in the state.

He said the Council thanked the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima for visiting the state and making very important pronouncements on the delivery of a world class fashion hub in Makurdi.
