Benue State House of Assembly has announced names of 17 commissioner nominees forwarded to it by Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh, announced the names during plenary, yesterday.
He read a correspondence forwarded by the governor requesting additional three commissioner nominees to the 14 nominees earlier forwarded to them for confirmation.
He said the request for the addition was in line with section 126 (Sub A) of the constitution.
Those on the list are Mrs Joyce Luga, Omale Omale, Yarmar Ortese, Rev Fredrick Ikyaan, Gwer West, Kwaghgba Amande, Kastina Ala, Mathew Abo and Tiza Imojime. Others are Aondowase Kunde, Prof Jonah Ogbaji, Martins Shaagee, Michael Oglagba, Ann Itodo, Fidelis Mnyin, and Ugoh Udoh.
The additional three names are Terkimbi Ikyange, Nick Oworo and Awuna Orpin.
The Speaker said the screening of nominees would begin on Thursday.
He urged persons involved to submit their Curriculum Vitae, (CVs) to the Assembly latest today by 2pm.
Meanwhile, Governor Alia has also approved the appointment of Special Advisers and Special Assistants into his cabinet.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, said their appointments are to enhance speedy service delivery to Benue people and make his government move in full throttle.
