The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential poll at the Government House Arts Theatre Polling Unit 001 located at the Protocol Unit of the Benue State Government House in Makurdi.
The APC garnered 125 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which polled 124 votes.
However, the former governor and Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, George Akume, of the APC lost at his polling unit. He polled 115 votes to PDP’s Oker Jev, who garnered 140 votes.
The Social Democratic party (SDP) got a few votes while some votes were declared invalid.
For the House of Representatives, PDP polled 199 as against APC’s 109.
Sunday Sun gathered that since the democratic process started in Nigeria, this is the first time that a government in power would win at the Government House polling unit as the voters there always voted for opposition.
