The All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue State chapter, has commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia for the purposeful, visionary, and people-oriented leadership saying their administration has continued to redefine the standards of good governance through deliberate policies and legacy projects.
According to the party, their legacy projects have strengthened public trust, confidence, and the overwhelming support of the people of Benue State.
State Chairman of APC, Benjamin Omale stated this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Friday.
Omale said the remarkable progress recorded in Benue State under Governor Hyacinth Alia aligns perfectly with the courageous socio-economic and political reforms being implemented by President Tinubu whose Renewed Hope Agenda is driven by patriotism and a firm commitment to sustainable economic growth, national development, self-reliance, and shared prosperity.
According to him, since assuming office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has embarked on bold and far-reaching reforms aimed at laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s future, including the removal of the long-standing fuel subsidy and deregulation of the petroleum sector, decentralization of the electricity sector, the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide interest-free loans to students, comprehensive tax reforms to strengthen non-oil revenue generation, financial autonomy for Local Governments, and the creation of regional development commissions to promote balanced development across the country.
He said “These courageous reforms have created an enabling environment for progressive APC-led states, including Benue, to implement impactful policies that directly improve the lives of citizens.
“Under Governor Alia’s leadership, Benue State has witnessed a new era of responsible governance driven by transparency, accountability, fiscal discipline, and measurable development.
“The administration has undertaken the construction and rehabilitation of strategic urban and rural roads, completed modern underpasses, rehabilitated the Otobi/Otukpo and Katsina-Ala Water Works, revitalised public infrastructure, invested significantly in education and healthcare, ensured prompt payment of salaries and pensions, strengthened agriculture and food security programmes, expanded youth and women empowerment initiatives, and promoted strategic investments and partnerships aimed at addressing insecurity and supporting internally displaced persons.
“The successful hosting of the Benue State International Investment and Economic Summit, alongside sustained efforts to improve security and expand economic opportunities, further demonstrates the administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, and investment-friendly state.
“The achievements of Governor Hyacinth Alia are visible, measurable, and undeniable. They stand as compelling evidence that purposeful leadership and good governance will always prevail over propaganda, misinformation, and political distractions.”
The APC stated that it will not be distracted by baseless allegations, sponsored propaganda, or desperate attempts by failed politicians to distort the facts adding that those who once enjoyed the trust of the people but failed to utilise the opportunities entrusted to them cannot rewrite history through campaigns of misinformation.
He noted that “Governance is about performance, not propaganda. It is about service, not sensationalism. It is about delivering results, not promoting false narratives.
“As the Benue State Chairman of the APC, I call on all party members to remain united and committed to the collective interest of our great party. Unity remains the bedrock of every successful political organisation and is indispensable to building a formidable structure capable of sustaining electoral victories and effective governance.”
He urged every member of the APC to place the interest of the party above personal ambition or factional considerations and also called on the Benue people to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Alia’s administration as it consolidates on its achievements.
