All roads lead to Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo State for the 2nd Diamond Superstars Promotion (DSP) National Open Kickboxing Championship holding from August 23 to 27.
President of the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN), Wilson Okon, who disclosed this, said the championship is in conjunction with the KBFN, and is open to all states of the Federation including military and para-military clubs.
The championship is being sponsored by USA based Nigerian born Loveth Patra Ekufu, former National and Kickboxing Champion, former Mixed Martial Arts Champion and National/international Referee of repute.
With 23 August set aside as the arrival date, the president informed that states will be responsible for the transportation, accommodation and feeding of their athletes.
He said all the athletes will undergo medical tests prior to their bout and warned that any fighter that fails to show up for the medical examination and weigh-in at the stipulated time, risks missing the championship.
There will be award of medals and certificates including reward of gift items to winners at the end of the exercise before the stakeholders meeting which takes place immediately after.
Delta State won the first edition of the championship.
