Prominent entertainment platform BellaNaija has teamed up with Nollywood star Adebimpe Adedimeji (Mobimpe) to produce a compelling and socially conscious drama titled Healing.
Produced under Mobimpe’s production company, the film explores the sensitive yet often overlooked subject of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), highlighting its impact on love, trust, and societal perceptions.
Healing follows the story of a young, happily married couple whose seemingly perfect relationship unravels after the wife is diagnosed with HPV. Beneath the surface lies a hidden truth, the husband’s past mistake, a single reckless night before their wedding, now threatens to destroy everything they have built together.
According to the producers, the film raises awareness about HPV, promoting early detection, testing, and education on the virus.
The cast features Oyebade Adebimpe Adedimeji, Gabriel Afolayan, Ronke Odusanya, and Lateef Adedimeji, alongside Remi Surutu, Kunle Omisore, Zainab Bakare, Kehinde Adeyoju, and Olajumoke Ashabi. Healing is executively produced by BellaNaija and Adebimpe Adedimeji, with Adeshina Abiola Paul serving as director. Speaking on the inspiration behind the project, Adebimpe expressed her deep belief in the power of storytelling to inspire and create change.
“Healing isn’t just a movie, it’s a message. It addresses real-life issues that people are often afraid to talk about. If even one person watches and feels seen or learns something that changes their mindset, that’s more than success for me, that’s purpose,” she said.
The actress further revealed that the concept for Healing originated from BellaNaija, which approached her to develop a story centred on HPV and its emotional and social implications.
Healing is currently available for streaming on YouTube via Mobimpe TV.
