A youth advocate and public affairs analyst, Nwabueze Onwumeme, an engineer, has alerted President Bola Tinubu and state governors to be wary of individuals and groups singing their praises and doling out accolades on them at this stage.
Onwuneme in a statement said that such individuals and groups do not mean well for them and Nigerians at large, but rather praising them in order to curry favour, personal gains or in lieu of appointments.
Onwuneme said that President Tinubu and the governors having just been in government for just over a month cannot and would not have achieved milestones that would deserve such enconmium being poured on them.
He reminded President Tinubu and the governors that nothing has changed since their assumption of office as Nigerians are still grasping under the menace of insecurity, killings, hunger, high inflation, among others.
He commended Dr Alex Otti of Abia State whom he said warned against such sycophantic gestures from the offset of his government.
Onwuneme called on Nigerians to rather pray for the nation and its leaders and be hopeful that this present leaders would deliver on their campaign promises.
