…Arrest 8, rescue 10 victims, 140 animals

Bauchi State Police Command has killed many suspected kidnappers, arrested eight suspects who have been terrorising residents of the state and rescued 10 victims.
The Commissioner of Police Auwal Muhammad disclosed this at a press conference on Thursday.
“The unrelenting and aggressive counter-kidnapping strategies of the Command in the fight against kidnapping and other heinous crimes have continued to yield positive results as the operatives of the Command and other sister security agencies recorded yet another harvest of criminals elements.
“The Command was able to dismantle kidnappers/banditry and cattle rustlers syndicates”
The CP disclosed that on July 2, 2023, the Command successfully arrested six suspected gangs of kidnappers and their informants in with four males and two females, terrorising Burra village and Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
The police boss revealed that the Command operations led to the dismantling of the kidnappers’ hideout situated in Burra Forest.
“On 31/7/2023, the operation continues to yield immense positive results which led to the rescue of another five kidnapped victims from different kidnappers’ enclaves in Burra Forest, Ningi LGA.
“Two suspected kidnappers were also arrested alongside 70 cows, 60 sheep and goats suspected to be rustled were also recovered.
He attributed the successes recorded to the strategic review of the Command operations through robust partnership with other sister security agencies, community participation and intelligence led-policing in the state.
